Coffee Bar @Bailey’s held its official grand opening and Sanibel and Captiva Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony on January 27. Coffee Bar @Bailey’s is located inside Bailey’s General Store.

“We’re so pleased to welcome the Coffee Bar to the Chamber of Commerce,” said Sanibel and Captiva Chamber of Commerce President Ric Base. “Richard and Blanaid have always been great Chamber members, and we’re so happy for their success with the Coffee Bar.”

Chamber of Commerce board members and local officials, including Mayor Mick Denham, Vice Mayor Kevin Ruane and Councilman Jim Jennings, were at the ribbon cutting. Coffee, smoothies and refreshments were served, and guests were able to sample some of the menu items.

“We’ve been open for several weeks now, and we wanted the community to celebrate that with us,” said Richard Johnson, Bailey’s General Store general manager. “The ribbon cutting was our official grand opening.”

Coffee Bar @Bailey’s opened in December 2009. Guests can enjoy espresso-based coffee drinks, including lattés, espressos and cappuccinos, frappuccino-style cold drinks, smoothies and even Italian cream soda. Loyalty cards are available at the counter and reward customers with a complimentary drink for every nine purchased.

To introduce the “Best Coffee Bar None” to the residents and visitors of Sanibel, Coffee Bar @Bailey’s is offering a $1.99 latté through January.

A latté is a coffee drink made with a shot (or two, depending on size) of espresso and creamy steamed milk. At Coffee Bar @Bailey’s lattés can be served hot or iced, and with flavors such as vanilla or caramel.

“Our most popular drinks so far have been vanilla lattés and caramel lattés,” said Blanaid Colley, who manages Coffee Bar @Bailey’s. “We want to invite people to try our lattés at this special price.”

Guests can enjoy more than 37 varieties of espresso-based coffee drinks, including espressos and cappuccinos as well as lattés, frappuccino-style cold drinks, smoothies and even Italian cream soda. During the first day of business at Coffee Bar @Bailey’s, more than 300 people were served. As a way to thank the community for coming out to support us, the 12th and 112th customers were each rewarded with a coupon book good for a complimentary medium drink on the 12th of every month for 12 months. The 12th customer, Shirley from Richmond, Virginia, was visiting Sanibel on vacation and was gracious enough to share her coupons with others in line. Bailey’s General Store opened its most recent addition on Saturday; Coffee Bar @Bailey’s. Guests were able to sample the menu, which includes 37 varieties of hot and cold drinks.

“We are so pleased to be able to serve the residents and visitors of Sanibel, and especially the guests of Bailey’s General Store,” said Colley, who is overseeing the operations of Coffee Bar @Bailey’s.

Bailey’s General Store has contracted the day-to-day operations of Coffee Bar @Bailey’s to Blanaid Colley and her staff of baristas and servers.

Guests of Bailey’s General Store and Coffee Bar @Bailey’s can now read the latest news, buy their holiday gifts and update their Twitter accounts from their laptops while enjoying a latté or smoothie. A free wi-fi hotspot, called “CoffeeBar”, is available to the public.
